If you’re a fan of the fuzzed out tunes of Mazes, you may be interested in this. You may well have picked up the demo version from their blog earlier in the year, but here’s the live studio version, recorded on BBC 6 Music last Thursday. And here’s the mystery. It’s a cover of a song called Illegitimate Love by Ean Eraser. Who’s that? No-one really knows. It’s not only Mazes who are left scratching their heads about the provenance of the 7 inch which slipped into record shops inside a paper bag early last year, others have asked the same question. Still no answers. Suggestions on a postcard to Mazes Mystery, PO Box 789, Ukraine.

Get Mazes’ 30-track (no, that’s not a typo) tape at Italian Beach Babes. The band are freshly signed to Fat Cat records and have a few tasty support slots upcoming in London and Manchester. Check the myspace for details.
