I wonder how many MGMT fans were curious enough to check out the bloke referred to in Song for Dan Treacy, off the Brooklyn duo’s latest album. Probably not many, but those who did may have been introduced to the weird, wonderful and often troubled world of The Television Personalities. That world is probably better served by a separate TVPs post some other time, but for now we’re talking about Dan Treacy’s latest activities. He hooked up with Californian noisy popsters Crocodiles at a recent Rough Trade show and ended up in the Xfm studio with them on Wednesday night. After a few Crocodiles tunes, they formed Dan’s backing band for a run-through of his new single, which will be out sometime. He didn’t say when. Until then, this is it.

Buy the latest TVPs album A Memory is Better Than Nothing from Rough Trade. There’s an excellent recent interview with Dan at The Arts Desk.

And here’s the Crocodiles curiosity that got people excited back in the summer.
