The Young Republic: get ready for new album and gigs
Good news! Long-time Daily Growl faves The Young Republic are finally going to release their second album Balletesque on End Of The Road Records on 12 October. I’ve kept returning to this album for most of this year, and it just gets better. The indie kids who dug 12 Songs From Winter City are going to be blown away by the rock ‘n’ roll power of the new-look Young Republic. I’m hoping to have a track-by-track from the band to post sometime just before the album’s release.
And it’s not just the album, but gigs too! Unfortunately not at End of the Road Festival where they’ve been regulars lately, but in the darker months of October and November. There’s a British tour, with a London date in one of my favourite venues. Bonus! Confirmed dates are below; there may be more.
22 Oct CARDIFF SWN Festival
23 Oct BIRMINGHAM The Rainbow
24 Oct COVENTRY Taylor John’s House
28 Oct GLASGOW Nice n’ Sleazy
30 Oct MIDDLESBROUGH Westgarth Social Club
31 Oct NEWCASTLE Cumberland
1 Nov BRISTOL Thekla
2 Nov LONDON Cargo
Here’s another track from the new album. An alternative version is in the video above.
