Freak Out

Phew. It’s been a hectic couple of weeks, for all sorts of reasons not worth going into here. The lack of posts is evidence of that. I’ve got just about enough time now to bring you some Banjo or Freakout. I don’t think I’ve mentioned the man otherwise known as Alessio Natalizia on here yet, which is remiss of me, but plenty other blogs have rightfully gone nuts about last year’s steady stream of covers, posted at his blog, which saw him wrapping leftfield indie faves (Radiohead, Burial, Vampire Weekend, High Places, Battles, LCD Soundsystem) in a dreamy melodious electronic haze.

But he does his own stuff too, and has been known to release actual records, one of which came out earlier this year on No Pain in Pop. There’s another in the pipleline, this time from the ever-reliable Half Machine Records. It’s a 12 inch, with five whole new tracks, which will no doubt be as ace as everything else he’s done. More on this later, but for now, here’s one from the archives and a newish remix of the last single.

mp3: Banjo or Freakout - Someone Great
