Jeremy Warmsley’s New Thing

Here’s a new thing. Quite literally. Longer-term readers of this blog will remember Welcome to our TV Show! from earlier in the year, which is a collaboration between Jeremy Warmsley and Fay Buzzard, and involves bands coming round to their house, playing, drinking and larking about. Jeremy Warmsley’s New Thing is similar but different. Similar in that it involves filming bands playing, different in that it’s Jeremy’s own project, and it’s more lo-fi. But not to complain, with this sort of thing it’s all about the quality of the acts, and he’s got plenty of these.

There’s been two JWNT shows already. Episode 1 (above), filmed in the Shoreditch Electricity Showrooms, on a light-up dancefloor features Mechanical Bride, Jay Jay Pistolet, Peggy Sue (sans the Pirates now, it seems) and Jeremy himself. Episode 2 (below), filmed at Avalanche Records in Glasgow features Malcolm Middleton, Emma Pollock playing new songs, The Pictish Trail doing an acoustic medley of Hot Chip songs and our main man again.

As a special bonus, the songs you can see in the videos are also available as mp3s (apart from the Emma Pollock one), courtesy of Jeremy for your listening pleasure.
